RBI prepones FCNR(B) swap deadline to Aug 31 as banks mobilise USD 52.3 billion
The Reserve Bank of India has brought forward the deadline for banks to mobilise fresh FCNR(B) deposits under its concessional forex swap facility by a month to August 31, after banks raised USD 52.3 billion through the route. Total foreign currency inflows under the facility have reached USD 56.85 billion as of August 13, with FCNR(B) deposits accounting for nearly 92 per cent of the mobilisation.
