For financial ratios (ROE, P/E, debt to equity and similar), see Learn and ratios instead. This page covers the other terms you meet across DocStoX.

AI score

A DocStoX-computed score built from a company's fundamentals. It describes the data, it is not a signal to buy, sell or hold. Appears on stock pages and in the screener (Pro).

Bulk deal

A single trade of more than 0.5% of a company's shares in a day, reported to the exchange. Appears on Bulk & Block Deals.

Block deal

A large trade, generally at least 5 lakh shares or ₹10 crore, negotiated privately and executed in a dedicated exchange window. Appears alongside bulk deals on Bulk & Block Deals.

Delivery %

The share of a day's traded volume that was actually delivered into demat accounts rather than squared off intraday. A high delivery % suggests more of the day's activity was genuine buying and holding rather than short-term trading. Shown on stock pages and screenable in the screener.

DII

Domestic Institutional Investor: Indian mutual funds, insurers and banks buying and selling in the Indian market. Tracked daily alongside FII on FII/DII Flows.

DRHP

Draft Red Herring Prospectus: the first detailed document a company files with SEBI to go public, with its business description, financials and risk factors, but not yet the final price or issue size. Appears on IPOs and DRHP.

Fair value

A DocStoX-computed price range for a stock, based on its fundamentals. It describes what the data implies, it is not a target price or investment advice. See Fair value.

FII

Foreign Institutional Investor: overseas funds buying and selling Indian securities. Tracked daily alongside DII on FII/DII Flows.

GMP

Grey Market Premium: an unofficial price at which an IPO trades in an informal, unregulated market before listing. It reflects sentiment, not a forecast, and is often unreliable close to listing. Appears on IPOs and DRHP.

MCP

Model Context Protocol: the open standard that lets an AI assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT call tools on another service. DocStoX runs a public MCP server so these assistants can read real market data. See MCP overview.

Max pain

The strike price at which the largest number of option holders (across both calls and puts) would lose money at expiry, one read on where option writers are positioned. Shown in the F&O terminal.

Open interest

The number of option or futures contracts that are currently open (bought or sold and not yet closed out), a measure of how much money is committed at a strike or expiry. Shown in the F&O terminal.

PCR

Put-Call Ratio: open interest or volume in put options divided by the same figure for calls, one input to reading whether options positioning leans bullish or bearish. Shown in the F&O terminal.

Pivot

In a breakout setup, the price a stock needs to clear for its base to resolve upward, usually the high of that base. Shown in Breakout setups.

Pledge

Shares a promoter has pledged as collateral against a loan. A rising pledge is a risk signal, since a loan default can force those shares onto the market. Tracked on Bulk & Block Deals and Insider Trades.

Research credit

The unit DocStoX's AI research spends per question, based on real model cost rather than a fixed per-question charge. See Research credits.

RHP

Red Herring Prospectus: the SEBI-approved, updated version of a DRHP, filed just before an IPO opens, adding the price band and issue size. Appears on IPOs and DRHP.

SAST

Substantial Acquisition of Shares and Takeovers: SEBI's disclosure requirement that triggers when an investor's stake in a company crosses 5% or moves significantly beyond it. Tracked alongside insider trades on Bulk & Block Deals and Insider Trades.

VCP

Volatility Contraction Pattern: a base where a stock's pullbacks get shallower each time and trading volume quietens, often watched as a setup ahead of a breakout. Shown in Breakout setups.
