Where the data comes from

The sources behind prices, financials, shareholding, flows, filings and news, and how DocStoX falls back when one fails.

Most of what you see on DocStoX is data-driven and computed programmatically: prices, ratios, scores, screens and verdicts are worked out by the same formula for every company from underlying exchange and regulatory data. Narrative research, such as DoXy and news summaries, is produced with the help of AI models reading that same structured data, never invented from a model's own memory.

By data family

DataOrigin
Prices, F&O, corporate actions, bulk and block dealsNSE and BSE, directly
Shareholding patternsNSE and BSE quarterly regulatory filings (the SHP disclosures every listed company must make)
SAST disclosures (large shareholding changes)NSE and BSE regulatory filings
Promoter pledgeNSE disclosures
FII and DII flowsNSE, with a public fallback source when the exchange's own publication is delayed
Mutual fund holdings and flowsAMFI (the mutual fund industry body) and SEBI
IPOs and DRHP filingsSEBI and the exchanges
Analyst ratings and forecastsPublic sell-side coverage data
Company fundamentals, growth metrics and profileCompany filings, reached both directly and through an established financial-data aggregator that re-packages exchange filings and screening sources
NewsPublic news sources, ranked and mapped to the stocks they affect

Scores, fair value estimates and verdicts are computed by DocStoX from the data above; they are not sourced from anywhere else. See How the AI score is built and How fair value is calculated.

When a source goes down

DocStoX watches how reliably each source is answering. If one degrades, the affected data kind is automatically switched to a working alternative without waiting for anyone to notice and ship a fix, and switched back once the primary source recovers. Data passes automated validation before it is stored, and a health check watches for staleness so a silently broken feed does not quietly go out of date.

If you spot an error

DocStoX handles a large amount of automatically sourced financial data, and despite validation, errors happen, upstream or on our side. Report one through the corrections and feedback policy: what page or symbol, what looks wrong, and the correct value if you have it. Full detail on how content is produced, reviewed and kept independent is in the editorial policy.
